What is road rut?

Road rut refers to the development of depressions or grooves on a roadway surface, caused by constant traffic and/or weather elements. Ruts can vary in depth and width, with some being only a few millimeters while others can be several inches deep and wide. Ruts on a road can lead to a bumpy ride for motorists and can cause damage to vehicles, as well as make driving difficult and more dangerous. Ruts can also lead to standing water on roadways, increasing the risk of hydroplaning and creating hazardous conditions for drivers. Regular maintenance and resurfacing can help prevent and correct the formation of road ruts.
